The Fiji browser extension sends the current track from a supported music tab to the Fiji app on your PC. That’s what “music bridge” means.
Already using Music Bridge?
Install Music Bridge 1.0.9: replace your unpacked extension files with the new download, reload the extension, and reload your music tabs once. This version handles invalidated extension contexts and temporary messaging disconnects. Updating Fiji alone does not update an unpacked extension.
Chrome, Edge & Firefox
The download includes a Chromium build and a Firefox build for YouTube Music, Spotify web, Apple Music web, TIDAL, SoundCloud, Deezer, Qobuz, and Amazon Music. Last.fm connects directly using your username and does not need an extension.
- Install Fiji Client 1.1.55 or newer and sign in. Open Fiji Settings → Connect browser to register the local connection.
- Download the extension below and extract the ZIP into a folder you will keep.
- Chrome / Edge: open
chrome://extensionsoredge://extensions, turn on Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the extractedChrome-Edgefolder. - Firefox: open
about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox, choose Load Temporary Add-on, and selectFirefox/manifest.json. This temporary install must be loaded again after Firefox restarts until Fiji’s Mozilla-signed listing is available. - Reload your music tab, press play, and choose the matching provider in Fiji’s dropdown. Browser source can stay on Automatic. Selecting a different provider will not relabel the website that is playing.
Error on chrome.runtime.sendMessage?
If it started after installing or reloading Music Bridge, refresh the YouTube Music tab once and press play again. Old tabs can still hold a disconnected copy of the extension. If playback still does not connect, open Fiji Settings → Connect browser, then click the Music Bridge icon to retry.
Track information. Not your browsing history.
The extension runs only on supported music sites and uses native messaging to communicate with Fiji on your PC. It reads media metadata, the current music-page address, and playback position—not passwords, cookies, audio recordings, or unrelated tabs. Fiji shares the selected track with Discord when presence is enabled.
